Description

St. Coletta's of Illinois is currently seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager to support the daily operations of the St. Coletta's of Illinois bakery. This position will assist with the preparation, production, packaging and sale of bakery items while supporting adults with developmental disabilities in developing vocational and workplace skills. 


Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (on-site)

Location: Tinley Park, IL

Salary: $47,000 annually 


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation, baking, packaging, and labeling of bakery products following established recipes and food safety procedures
  • Support and encourage adults with developmental disabilities in completing bakery-related tasks and work assignments
  • Reinforce vocational skills, appropriate workplace behaviors, teamwork, communication, and independence among participants
  • Provide guidance and redirection to workers as instructed by the Bakery Supervisor
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and storage areas in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Help monitor food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with public health standards
  • Assist with setting up workstations and preparing ingredients and supplies for daily production schedules
  • Support bakery sales, customer service, and special event preparation as needed
  • Assist participants with completing assigned duties while promoting a safe and supportive work environment
  • Observe and report participant progress, concerns, incidents, or behavioral changes to supervisory staff
  • Assist with inventory organization, stocking supplies, and maintaining orderly storage areas
  • Participate in implementing individual goals and support plans as directed

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent, preferred
  • Knowledge of cooking and baking in large quantities, required
  • Experience working with individuals with ID/DD, preferred 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid ServSafe certification, or obtain the certification within three (3) months of hire
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
