Description

The Community Day Services (CDS) provides a variety of programs to enhance each individual’s adaptive living skills, economic self-sufficiency, overall level of independence and integration into the community. The CDS is seeking a Assistant Director responsible for assisting in the programming, supervision and administration of the Community Day Services program.


Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM


Responsibilities:
 

· Assists in the development of policies, programs and procedures for the department

· Is administratively responsible for department operations in the absence of Director

· Responsible for all program attendance records; ensures that all electronic attendance is entered in a timely manner

· Enters electronic billing daily; meets agency benchmarks for minimum billing hours to be completed on daily and/or weekly basis

· Coordinates all aspects of the Community Day Services transportation program, including supervision of morning drop off and afternoon pick up; maintaining participant route assignments; assigning back up drivers as needed; upkeep of van keys and key lock boxes; vehicle log books; vehicle maintenance work orders and ensuring vehicle cleanliness

· Trains, supervises, monitors, and evaluates the transportation route drivers in the performance of their duties

· Provides consumer supervision in place of subordinate staff as needed, including driving routes when necessary

· Assists Director with ensuring all vocational programs meet enrollment and performance expectations

· Responsible for inventory, ordering and distribution of supplies throughout the program

· Implements and monitors emergency interventions during crisis situations

· Has thorough knowledge of all pertinent licensing regulations

· Assists in the writing of program proposals for and maintains open communication with funding agencies


Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience in a related field preferred; three years’ experience in vocational services required
  • Knowledge of IDORS and DMH procedures and CARF standards preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Master's degree in vocational administration or business administration preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass a criminal background check and physical/drug test
  • Pass a MVR background check
