Position Summary:
Reporting to Director of Vocational Services, this position is responsible for oversight of Training Specialists in the Vocational Workshop program and ensuring all quality and standards of care and production are met.

General Duties:

Trains and monitors subordinate personnel in the implementation of consumer programs; trains, supervises, and assists subordinate personnel in the completion of industrial subcontracts; communicates department and Agency performance expectations to subordinate personnel; monitors subordinates’ performance daily and initiates corrective action as needed; motivates subordinates in the performance of job duties; substitutes for subordinate personnel during periods between the hiring of a subordinate employee and when subordinates do not report to work; assists in the implementation of small programming groups for consumers with similar needs; assists subordinates in the development and implementation of gainful organized activities during periods when industrial subcontracts are not available to consumers; assists in the implementation of Individual Program Plans. Other duties not listed and as assigned.

Qualifications:

Skills:
Excellent organizational abilities; excellent written and oral communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills.  Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license and be physically able to perform Agency approved behavior management techniques.  Must attend and successfully complete required agency and DHS in-service training.  Must be able to lift, transfer, push, pull and transport a minimum of 40 pounds.
 
Experience:
Three years related experience preferred.
 
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation or related field preferred, but not required.
