Description
The Residential Supervisor would be responsible for supporting a group home with individuals with developmental disabilities and supervising the staff.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Supervise all efforts performed by DSP staff
  • Implement the IPP by developing a written plan, goals and objectives based on strengths and needs of the individual. This includes progress notes and data collection sheets.
  • Ensure documentation is accurately completed on activities and all IPP goals and required documents
  • Work with the Director of Nursing to ensure that the DSP staff is trained and authorized to administer medication.
  • Ensure a safe and pleasing home environment by completing environmental inspections and noting safety concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Oversee the scheduling of professional consultant in providing services to individuals
  • Promote community integration by planning activities. This includes a monthly activity schedule that reflects and meets the goals and desires of each individual.
  • Communicate effectively with guardians to make certain that documents are discussed, consents are signed and that medication and budgeting information is dispersed consistently and accurately.
  • Monitor individual funds, maintaining a complete and accurate accounting system of incoming funds as outlined by agency policy and procedure and with the knowledge of the Administrator
  • Ensure budgeting and planning for each individual’s needs and develop programs that reflect fiscal self sufficiency skills.
  • Assist with the behavioral support programs and implementation of those programs.
  • Work in conjunction with PAS agencies and other referral entities to help facilitate proper placement of individuals served.
  • Maintain a frequent presence in the home to ensure the all services in all program areas are made available to each consumer
  • Carry cell phone/pager and respond in timely response to all pages and calls
  • Respond with established procedures to all emergency situations including medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather and other hazards
  • Assure above standard of service by complying with state and federal regulations, by sustaining positive regulatory/funding source (DPH/DHS) survey outcomes, and by completing bi-monthly quality assurance audits
  • Assure that information is ready and available for yearly ICF/DD Inspection (if applicable) of Care by anticipating and preparing for potential shortages and ensuring that documentation and goals support the funding source.
  • Coordinate necessary staff coverage to complete medical appointments and services obtained by specialist.

Work Schedule:

Complete a minimum of 40 work hours weekly
  • Maintain an active presence in the home during all shifts
  • Complete schedules needed for appropriate staff coverage
Qualifications
Five years of related experience required working as a DSP, and previous Supervisory Experience.
Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License
Must be 21 years of age.
