Maintenance Worker Summary Description MAINTENANCE WORKER
St. Coletta’s of Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Worker responsible for the general upkeep and condition of the property of our Group Homes and Administration Building.
Responsibilities
- Has a working knowledge of a variety of maintenance areas including plumbing, heating, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair;
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots maintenance associated problems;
- Repairs or replaces equipment as required;
- Safely operates all maintenance equipment;
- Assists in preparation for building inspections;
- Helps to ensure a safe living and working environment for consumers and staff as related to facilities operations;
- Completes necessary paperwork including status logs and material ordering requisitions;
Qualifications:
- The physical effort will involve continuous sitting, standing, walking, bending and stretching, driving a vehicle, writing, lifting up to 100 pounds, and stooping.
- May be required to travel locally.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to scheduling changes.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as a member of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Construction background preferred.
- Must possess a wide range of residential and commercial repair skills.
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial and/or residential repair.
- Valid IL or IN driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must pass a criminal background check as well as a drug/alcohol screening test.
