Founded in 1949 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Coletta’s provides a lifelong continuum of care beginning in early childhood. Our residential, educational and vocational training programs provide services for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities that enhance their independence and well-being. We serve participants without regard to race, religion or economic background. St. Coletta’s meets individuals’ needs and abilities while providing the least restrictive environment for growth.

We are seeking an individual to join our Residential/ICF team who will be responsible for the actual preparation of food while ensuring proper food stor­age, sanitation and use of food preparation equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Consults with nursing staff as needed regarding dietary matters and consults with dietitian on a monthly basis and assists with all menu planning.
  • Prepares all meals and snacks in accor­dance with approved menus using proper food service procedures.
  • Ensures proper food stor­age in accordance with Agency and program regulations.
  • Ensures that food preparation areas and equipment are properly maintained securing a clean sanitary environment at all times in kitchen, pantry, dining room, including floors.
  • Uses food preparation equipment properly, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels.
  • Attends all required meetings and completes all required in-service training.
  • Completes all documenta­tion as required by Agency policy and proce­dure.
  • Immediately informs administrative personnel of any unusual incidents
  • Follows work schedule as written, arriving to work on time and completing time sheet daily
  • Is familiar with and consistently implements all licensing regulations which pertain to food preparation, storage and sanitation
  • Maintains professional conduct and appearance at all times
  • May be required to work hours in excess of those regularly scheduled
  • Adheres to all Agency and depart­mental policy and procedure
  • Remains awake and alert at all times
  • Ensures a safe work environment for consumer(s) and staff at all times
  • Is familiar with and adheres to all aspects of the infection control policy and other safety related practices
  • Is familiar with and adheres to the mission of the agency
  • Is Responsible for grocery shopping and maintaining the established budget.
  • All other duties as assigned by the manager in writing, including but not limited to, weekly check list

 

Qualifications

  • Must be familiar with kitchen safety procedures. 
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a v­alid IL driver's license.
  • Previous food service experience preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid Illinois Food Ser­vice Sani­tation Certificate.
  • Knowledge of cleaning supplies and the correct procedures for usage.
