Founded in 1949 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Coletta’s provides a lifelong continuum of care beginning in early childhood. We are seeking an individual to join our Maintenance team who will be responsible for the training of janitorial work site obligations while providing training and supervision to workers at the assigned site.

Responsibilities

• Displays knowledge of the correct usage of all cleaning equipment and supplies utilized at the janitorial work site.
• Maintains cleaning equipment and supplies in a manner that is consistent with the needs and requirements of the janitorial work site.
• Sweeps and washes floors, vacuums carpets, empties trash containers and dusts furniture and facility equipment as required by contractual obligations.
• Cleans and sanitizes washrooms as required by contractual obligations.
• Substitutes for work site supervisor as needed.
• Transports workers to and from the work site as needed.
• Monitors an individual’s work related skills and behaviors and develops interventions when performance expectations are not being met.
• Represents the agency in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
• Trains disabled workers in janitorial methods and procedures including the proper operation of equipment.
• Serves as a liaison to parents, guardians, agency personnel and site contractors.
• Inspects work performed by disabled workers to ensure conformance to contract specifications and established standards.
• Evaluates workers and records performance data on specified forms.
• Provides coverage for absentee workers as needed.
• Maintains inventories of janitorial supplies and equipment.
• Monitors and fulfills work schedules to ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Provides crisis interventions as needed.
• Ensures a safe work environment for workers.
• Completes all documentation as required by licensing and accreditation requirements and agency policy and procedures.
• Attends and completes all required in-service training.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities. 
• Experience with janitorial procedures.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Possess reliable transportation.
• Have a valid Illinois Driver’s License and vehicle.
• Fluency in sign language preferred.
• Knowledge of the operation of janitorial equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning supplies and the correct procedures for usage.
