Providing educational, vocational and residential services for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
 
Position Summary: Reports directly to the Director of Educational Services, providing individual assessments and evaluations of the progress of assigned students while developing, monitoring and coordinating ­IEPs for each assigned student

Qualifications: MSW from accredited institution required; Type 73 and/or LCSW.  Previous experience in social work and with individuals with developmental and/or multi-categorical disabilities is preferred.
 
Skills: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication skills required.  Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid IL driver's license meeting DCFS approval.  Must be physically able to perform Agency approved behavior management techniques.

General Duties:
  • Coordinates all aspects of students’ Individual Evaluation Plans and produces the required documentation on a timely basis.
  • Participates actively in the development of all IEP and behavior programs.
  • Organizes and facilitates parent groups.
  • Consults with teachers as to needs of the student(s).
  • Conducts assessments using standard social and developmental evaluation tools.
  • Conducts Multidisciplinary conferences.
  • Works with psychology staff on collection and interpretation of student data.
  • Understands and completes all documentation as required by Agency policy and licensing regulations ensuring all established deadlines are met.
  • Recommends and refers students for specialized services as needed.
  • Participates in the in­take evaluations and placement of new students.
  • When necessary, supervises family visits with students.
  • Serves as student advocate.
  • Has thorough knowledge of all pertinent licensing regulations.
  • Maintains professional conduct and appearance consistent with the expectations of this position when dealing with any Agency or external personnel.
  • Ensures a safe work environment for student(s) and staff at all times.
  • Adheres to all Agency and departmental policies and procedures; per­forms all other duties as assigned.
